# Check WhatsApp plan usage with MCP

> Read GreenTick plan limits and current usage from an assistant before you send, publish, or enroll.

`get_usage` and `get_limits` are reads. They do not send a message or change the account. Call them before a large broadcast, a new Flow, or a template, so the assistant can tell you when a field or a feature will be rejected.

## Ask this

```text theme={null}
Check my plan usage and the text limits for templates and workflows. Do not send, publish, or create anything. If the plan is expired, say so and stop.
```

## What the assistant calls

**1. Read usage and limits**

`get_api_key` confirms the key and the account timezone. `get_usage` returns usage for messages, AI tokens, automations, Flows, and bots. `get_limits` returns the field limits the assistant must respect before it writes template, workflow, Flow, bot, catalog, or message text.

**2. Stop on plan errors**

`PLAN_EXPIRED` means the plan is expired. `FEATURE_NOT_INCLUDED` means this plan does not include that tool. The assistant does not retry `PLAN_EXPIRED` until you renew on **Manage Plan**.

Write calls are also capped at 60 a minute per API key. That limit, and the error codes, are on [Rules](https://docs.greentick.ai/mcp/rules.md).
