# Enable a WhatsApp AI bot with MCP

> Create a disabled WhatsApp AI bot, add knowledge, run a test, and enable it only after you ask.

A new bot stays disabled. The assistant cannot turn it on until a test succeeds, every knowledge source is ready, and you ask to enable it. Updating the bot does not enable it.

## Ask this

```text theme={null}
Create a disabled customer_support bot named "Shop desk" with a short system prompt that answers questions about store hours. Add this FAQ: question "What are your hours?", answer "We are open 9:00 to 18:00 local time." Then test it with "When do you close?" Do not enable it.
```

After the test looks right and knowledge is ready:

```text theme={null}
Enable the Shop desk bot.
```

## What the assistant calls

**1. Create it disabled**

`get_ai_bot_catalog` lists models. `create_ai_bot` creates a disabled bot. `agentType` is `customer_support`, `booking`, `sales`, or `custom`.

**2. Add knowledge and test**

`add_ai_bot_knowledge` adds `faq`, `url`, or `file` knowledge. `get_ai_bot_knowledge` reports `pending`, `processing`, `ready`, or `failed`. `test_ai_bot` sends one `message` to the bot. Knowledge that is still `processing` blocks enable. The assistant waits and reads the knowledge again.

**3. Enable**

`enable_ai_bot` runs only after the test, after every source is `ready`, and after you ask.

A knowledge file follows the [Media](https://docs.greentick.ai/mcp/media.md) rules for the `knowledge` purpose: PDF, plain text, Markdown, or JSON. The tool list is on [AI bots](https://docs.greentick.ai/mcp/ai-bots.md).
