# Broadcasts

> Send an approved WhatsApp template to selected contacts now or at a scheduled time.

A broadcast sends one approved template to the contacts you select on the connected phone number.

Open **Broadcasts** in the dashboard.

## Send a broadcast

**1. Choose an approved template**

The template picker lists approved templates only. If the template is missing, check **Templates** and wait for Meta approval.

**2. Fill variables**

Provide a value for each named variable. You can map variables from contact fields and attributes so each recipient gets their own value.

**3. Select recipients**

Search saved contacts, filter by labels or attributes, import a file, or add phone numbers for this send. Contacts who opted out of broadcasts stay excluded.

**4. Send or schedule**

Choose **Send now** or **Schedule for a specific time**. Drip campaigns use **Start now** instead of **Send now**.

After the broadcast starts, the list shows recipients and delivery. Failed messages can be retried from the broadcast when your plan includes that feature.

## Drip campaigns

Standard and Premium include drip campaigns. A drip enrolls contacts into an automation whose trigger is **Enroll contacts**. Publish that automation and turn it on, then choose it for the campaign. Each campaign can use a different automation.
