# Verify your business

> Move your Meta business portfolio from Unverified to Verified.

Business verification confirms to Meta that your business is real. A verified business can move to higher WhatsApp messaging limits.

## Start verification

**1. Open Business info**

Go to [business.facebook.com](https://business.facebook.com/), click **Settings**, then open **Business info**.

**2. Start verification**

In **Business verification**, the status shows **Unverified**. Click **Start verification**.

**3. Select your business record**

Meta lists matching public business records. Select yours. If none matches, continue by uploading a document.

**4. Confirm your connection to the business**

Choose how to prove you represent the business: email, phone call, SMS, WhatsApp message, or an identity document. Email or phone is usually fastest.

**5. Complete the check**

Enter the code or finish the identity check. Meta reviews the submission, usually within a few minutes to a few hours.
